This one is for the tricking instructors out there. Is it possible to really have tricking coaches the way there are gymnastics coaches? Perhaps in a less rigid sense yes. I like to think that there will be opportunity for tricking coaches to set aside their own chase to help others achieve at a very high level. How that should be done is up for debate, but here are my thoughts:
- Breaking down skills into easier components and progressions should be the cornerstone of tricking instruction.
- Controlled creative “lab” time must be implemented in order to breed innovation and style.
- The role of the coach is most similar to a gardener as opposed to a carpenter.
